Butadiene Acrylonitrile Rubber (NBR)

Butadiene Acrylonitrile Rubber (NBR) - Madis Grup

Butadiene Acrylonitrile Rubber (NBR), commonly known as NBR or Nitrile, is a synthetic rubber that resists oil and is derived from a copolymer of acrylonitrile and butadiene. This type of artificial rubber generally demonstrates resistance to oil, fuel, and various chemicals.

NBR exhibits favorable elongation properties, along with sufficient resilience, tensile strength, and compression set. Its primary applications include use in fuel hoses, gaskets, rollers, and other products where resistance to oil is essential. In comparison to natural rubber, nitrile rubber also displays superior resistance to oils and acids.

Properties of Butadiene Acrylonitrile Rubber (NBR):

  • Outstanding oil resistance
  • Good heat aging characteristics
  • High resistance to gas permeability
  • Excellent chemical resistance
  • Low insulation resistance
